On Sunday, July 28, Julia and David Gardner were inducted into National Jeweler's 2019 “Retailer Hall of Fame” in the category of Single-Store Independent in New York, New York. National Jeweler’s "Retailer Hall of Fame," first introduced in 1989, recognizes jewelers who have inspired their peers and made significant contributions to jewelry retailing.
According to The National Jeweler Retailer Hall of Fame, “Jewelers are chosen based on a set of criteria that include, but are not limited to, the long-term success of their business, their standing in the industry among peers, innovation, and involvement in their local community.” In an article about the Gardners titled “Better Together,” Branstrator writes, “A common thread among the industry’s most successful retailers is that they are also among the most active businesses in their community. But few seem to have taken it to heart quite like the Gardners.”
The Gardners are one of 28 stores to have been inducted in the category of Single-Store Independent in the U.S.
