The Blinn College Alumni and Friends and the Buccaneer Alumni Lettermen associations will host the fifth annual Blinn College District Clay Shootout on Friday, April 5, to raise funds for academic scholarships and athletic equipment.
Underwritten by Stylecraft Builders, Inc., the Clay Shootout will be held at the Boswell Porter 4-H Shotgun Range, located at 7676 County Road 247 in Caldwell.
“Stylecraft Builders is thrilled to partner with Blinn on such a great event,” says Doug French, chief executive officer for Stylecraft Builders. “Blinn is an asset to our community, and as an alumnus myself, I recognize the quality education they provide local students.”
Entry for a four-person team is $500 and entry for a single shooter who wishes to be paired with a team is $125. The shoot will include 100 sporting clays. Food will be provided throughout the day along with drinks, raffles, prizes, and awards. For non-shooters, there will be unlimited food and drink for $20.
Raffle tickets will also be sold prior to the event.
Shooters must provide their own shotgun and ammunition. Registration will be one hour before shoot time with a safety meeting 30 minutes prior to shoot time. Awards will be presented to the top male, female, and youth following the final flight. Shooters under the age of 17 must have completed their hunter’s safety certification.
Stylecraft Builders is underwriting this year’s Clay Shootout with a $15,000 sponsorship.
“We are thrilled with all the support we receive for the annual Clay Shoot,” says Dr. Deanna Alfred, president of the Blinn Alumni and Friends Association. “This has become our signature event and we look forward to hosting it each April.”
