The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley is proud to announce Stylecraft as the presenting sponsor of Brazos Valley Gives.
This second annual giving day rallies Brazos Valley residents to put “community [first] by giving where you live.” Given the additional needs within the nonprofit community this year, early giving began on Thursday, Oct. 1. Participants include 136 nonprofits, 56 of which are new to the event. Organizations include nonprofits from Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Madison, Robertson, and Washington Counties.
To make a gift to a participating nonprofit, donors simply log on to brazosvalleygives.org. Early giving concludes on Oct. 23, and Brazos Valley Gives Day is Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Brazos Valley Gives Day consists of 18 hours of online giving that brings the region together to raise critical funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations throughout the Brazos Valley. Powered by the Community Foundation, Brazos Valley Gives provides citizens and businesses an easy platform to support the mission and “good works” of local nonprofit organizations. On this day, everyone can be a philanthropist.
“Early giving makes it easy for the donor to give at their convenience,” says Brazos Valley Gives co-chair Molly Watson. “Those gifts are just the spark that the nonprofit needs to build their momentum leading up to Brazos Valley Gives.”
Last year, in the inaugural year of Brazos Valley Gives, more than 100 nonprofits participated with 100% of nonprofits receiving a financial benefit from the $363,686 that was raised. Each participating nonprofit was also eligible for $25,250 in prizes that were awarded during a post-celebration event. More than 1,100 individuals gave, and 879 donations came from first-time donors to a local nonprofit.
This year, the event has expanded to include additional nonprofits throughout the Brazos Valley region. With so many nonprofits forced to cancel their events and fundraisers over the past six months, Brazos Valley Gives is serving as a critical fundraiser for many local nonprofits.
“The needs are great this year, and our nonprofit community needs our support now more than ever,” says Patricia Gerling, president and CEO of the Community Foundation.
The goal for this year's fundraiser is $375,000. Though the Community Foundation powers Brazos Valley Gives, 100% of donations will benefit participating nonprofits.
Bryan Broadcasting, Insite, KBTX, The Eagle, Brenham Banner Press, Lamar Advertising, KTEX, KWHI, and David Gardner’s Jewelers – along with the Bryan College Station and Washington County Chambers of Commerce – are partnering with Brazos Valley Gives to ensure the community is aware and ready for the big day.
