Hospice Brazos Valley, the only community-owned nonprofit hospice in the Brazos Valley, kicks off the new decade with their annual fundraiser, Hospice Happening. Founded in Bryan in 1989, Hospice Brazos Valley was the first hospice established in the Brazos Valley and has since served thousands of patients with award-winning hospice care and grief support services, according to the Hospice Brazos Valley website.
Hospice Happening is on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 6pm at the Brazos County Expo Complex. Keeping with the theme of the Roaring 20s, the event features dancing to live music entertainment from Uptown Saxman, Edmond Baker, Jr., and the Texas Unlimited Band; a specially prepared three-course dinner; casino table games such as Blackjack, Texas Hold’Em, Craps, and Roulette; as well as interesting and unique silent auction items, according to the Hospice Brazos Valley website.
This event helps provide the funds and support needed to continue to provide the high-quality end-of-life care to those with limited resources.
“In order to be able to service the end-of-life care for patients and offer support to the families, we have to have support from the community to help us fund our mission,” says Dianne Lero, Hospice Brazos Valley fund development supervisor.
