The United Way Youth Leadership Cabinet is holding the sixth annual United We Serve profit share fundraiser at all three DoubleDave’s Pizzaworks locations in the Bryan College Station area, including Texas Avenue, Longmire, and Boonville locations. DoubleDave’s Pizzaworks will donate a portion of the proceeds from all locations for dine-in, carry-out, and delivery all day Feb. 21 to the United Way Youth Leadership Cabinet.
United We Serve features local celebrities serving pizzas for tip donations at all three locations. The celebrities featured that day will include local educators, community leaders, representatives, and radio personalities from the Bryan College Station area. Youth Leadership Cabinet members fundraise throughout the school year in addition to hosting United We Serve and their Pass-the-Bucket events at school athletic events.
The Youth Leadership Cabinet is a group of passionate high school students making a positive impact throughout our community through United Way of the Brazos Valley. Students from Allen Academy, A&M Consolidated High School, Bryan Collegiate High School, Bryan High School, College Station High School, College View High School, and Rudder High School unite to lead the way volunteering, raising funds and helping others in the Brazos Valley. These students meet weekly to engage in service opportunities and develop leadership skills.
Through their various fundraisers the Youth Leadership Cabinet is able to provide grants to local nonprofit agencies whose programs align with United Way of the Brazos Valley’s goals in Health, Education, and Financial Stability. During the 2017-2018 school year, the Youth Leadership Cabinet set their fundraising goal at $9,000 and were able to grant $14,500 to 20 nonprofits in the area. This year they set a goal for $12,000 and are hoping to surpass that through fundraisers like United We Serve.
