The United Way of the Brazos Valley’s Youth Leadership Cabinet will hold their annual profit share, United We Serve, on Thursday, Feb. 27.
The Youth Leadership Cabinet is a group of high school students who work to connect, serve, and lead in their community by volunteering, raising funds, and helping others in the Brazos Valley. Their biggest fundraiser of the year is an all-day profit share fundraiser at all three DoubleDave's Pizzaworks in the Bryan College Station area. The Youth Leadership Cabinet brings in local celebrities for United We Serve to serve pizza for tips between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
This year, the Youth Leadership Cabinet has a goal of raising $11,000 to give back to the local community. During the school year, the Youth Leadership Cabinet raises funds which they then grant to local nonprofit organizations like the Bryan College Station Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise of B/CS, and the Texas Ramp Project. Last year, the Youth Leadership Cabinet granted $32,000 to 38 nonprofit organizations serving the Brazos Valley through fundraising efforts and a matching donation from Fries Financial Services.
At all three of their locations, DoubleDave’s Pizzaworks will donate a portion of their profits from every order on Feb. 27 to the Youth Leadership Cabinet. Additionally, the Youth Leadership Cabinet has organized games for the local celebrities to participate in, such as a photo scavenger hunt to raise donations.
The Youth Leadership Cabinet strives to lead the way by making connections, serving the community, and developing future leaders in the Brazos Valley. The Youth Leadership Cabinet is made up of students from Allen Academy, A&M Consolidated High School, Bryan Collegiate High School, Bryan High School, College Station High School, College View High School, and Rudder High School.
