The City of Bryan is exploring the possibility of offering broadband internet access and needs the public’s help to determine the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of doing so.
From January 4 through February 4, the City of Bryan is conducting a survey to help city leaders make an informed decision on the project.
There are two surveys, and both are available in English and Spanish:
The survey will ask a variety of questions about customers’ experience with broadband in the community and their preferences for broadband service. Respondents are also encouraged to take the survey from their homes or businesses because there is a speed test included in the survey.
To encourage participation, the city is giving away five $50 Amazon gift cards to individuals who fill out the residential survey and five $50 Amazon gift cards to people who fill out the business survey.
The survey data will be analyzed by the city’s consulting firm and used in conjunction with additional research to determine whether the City of Bryan offering broadband services is financially feasible.
