
Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service invites you to the 9th annual Texas Symposium on Women, Peace, and Security. This year’s symposium will focus on Emerging Insights on Women, Peace, and Security from the Asia-Pacific.
The symposium will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center and will feature Dr. Elise Stephenson of the Australian National University, Dr. Melissa Johnston of the University of Queensland, Dr. Sumin Lee of Texas A&M University and Sami Jabarkhail of Texas A&M University as speakers.
The event opens at 9:30 a.m. CT with remarks from event host Dr. Valerie M. Hudson and Acting Dean of the Bush School Dr. Frank B. Ashley III. Presentations from the speakers will occur throughout the day until a final panel discussion of all participants moderated by Hudson. The speakers will cover issues that include sexual violence in East and Southeast Asia, gender roles and American intervention in Afghanistan, women in the Australian foreign policy establishment, and the relationship between brideprice and conflict in international relations.
