United Way of the Brazos Valley is once again bringing holiday cheer at its annual Jingle Book Bash at Post Oak Mall. The event will be hosted on December 2 and December 9 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Jingle Book Bash is a book giveaway that will feature free books for children of all ages, including infants, grade school students and teens.
“This is our sixth year partnering with Post Oak Mall to Host Jingle Book Bash” said Kat Gammon, Vice President Community Impact at United Way. “Each year we give out hundreds of books to help spread the joy of reading during the holiday season.”
Last year United Way of the Brazos Valley distributed 1,700 children’s books at Jingle Book Bash. United Way of the Brazos Valley has given away over 9,400 books to children in the Brazos Valley across all three of their Early Literacy Programs, including Book Bash giveaways, Books and a Blanket and Baby Bundles.
Two-thirds of children living in poverty grow up with no books at home. Studies show that children who grow up with access to books in their homes have a better chance to reach a higher level of education than those who do not. United Way of the Brazos Valley seeks to improve early literacy by ensuring every child has books in their home.
United Way of the Brazos Valley would like to thank its generous supporters who make Jingle Book Bash possible, including the Clifton C. and Henryetta C. Doak Charitable Trust, PNC Bank and the Nina Astin Winkler Charitable Trust.
