We are excited to announce the grand opening of Apex Performance Vision - Brazos Valley's first and only clinic dedicated to vision therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, and Sports Vision. Apex is the culmination of our passion for getting your eyes and brain working together the way they should. We want to invite YOU to our Open House. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served.
When your eyes and brain don’t work together properly, you can suffer from many symptoms including headaches, difficulty reading, and car sickness. Apex treats these symptoms with vision therapy. Vision therapy is like physical therapy for the eyes. It strengthens and builds new neuro connections between the eyes, the brain, and other body systems. Vision both influences and leads other body systems including the motor (movement), vestibular (balance), and auditory (hearing) systems. As a result, symptoms that are normally associated with other body systems like poor handwriting or dizziness may actually have vision as the underlying cause.
Sound weird? Search YouTube for a video of the McGurk effect of vision over-riding the auditory system.
Many of our friends, family and neighbors struggle with undiagnosed binocular vision disorders. They lose their place when they read, spend hours doing what should be a few minutes of homework, and shift families' focus to helping the struggling child at the expense of other areas of family life. Symptoms can even mimic ADHD and dyslexia.
If you or anyone you know struggles with the symptoms that were discussed above, we highly encourage you to attend the Apex come-and-go open house to see if vision therapy is the solution you've been searching for.
