Join the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History for an Owl-O-Ween Festival for all ages from 5:30 to 8:00pm on Friday, Oct. 18. This spook-tacular event includes educational booths, face painting, crafts, carnival games, and more! Museum admission is free; tickets must be purchased to participate in games, concessions, and the haunted woods tours.
Festival participants will enjoy live animals including: Texas bats from the Austin Bat Refuge, owls from the Friends of Texas Wildlife, insects and spiders from the Texas A&M University Entomology Graduate Student Organization, and snakes and lizards from The Reptile Sanctuary. Don’t miss the chance to visit with all of these iconic Halloween creatures up close!
Older children can have a hoot of a time with the haunted woods tour in the Carter Creek Nature Trail. A Tunnel of Fun and other activities for younger audiences will also be available inside.
All ages are invited to come in costume for a chance to win prizes in the following categories: scariest; cutest; most unique; best child; best adult; and best group. Awards will be announced at 7pm.
Visitors are also encouraged to view the Museum’s temporary exhibit, Fossil Fever: The Legacy of Mark Francis, on display through Jan. 11, 2020.
The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is open to visitors Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
