Full of tradition, family, and love, July 22 will be a day Jaclyn and Dwight Groves always remember. With a traditional church ceremony and an elegant reception, the couple celebrated the start of their new lives in front of more than 300 guests.
The couple chose to have their wedding at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, a decision that was meaningful to Jaclyn and spoke to the traditional theme of the day.
“My parents got married at the same church,” Jaclyn says. Her great-grandparents and great-great grandparents were married there as well. “So I was the fourth generation of my Italia
n side to get married in that church.”
The traditional Italian influence continued to show at the reception as it started off with a Grand March. Led by family members JJ and Cherry Ruffino, it allowed the bridal party to march along with friends and family. They marched in the shape of an “R,” a “G,” and a heart, symbolic of uniting Ruffino and Groves.
With subtle shades of reds, berry, and gold, the decorations accented the elegance of the event and personal touches were added alongside photos to make it unique to the bride and groom. The bride’s cake complemented Jaclyn’s family history with a traditional Italian buttercream cake decorated with pearls and hearts to give a classy, elegant feel.
To help the day go smoothly, Jaclyn enlisted the help of Ashley & Co. as her wedding planners. She advises other brides to consider having a planner to help things go smoothly, especially on the day of the wedding. It helped make sure her elegant affair was a night to remember.
“It was the best party ever,” says Jaclyn. “I didn’t want the day to end.”
