What makes a wedding celebration unforgettable? Two people who make the experience distinctly theirs. After months of planning, it all comes down to the myriad decisions and details that altogether add up to their own momentous occasion. Once the vows have been exchanged, the cake has been cut, and the guests have all gone home, what remains are cherished memories. We are honored to share select highlights from four newlyweds — the Fiscus-Saxtons, the Gings, the McCalls, and the Satterfields — with some reflections about what made their day uniquely special.

Megan & Broch Fiscus-Saxton: Dec. 6, 2020
“We were in high school. I was coming off the football field when I saw her and couldn’t take my mind off her. One thing led to another, and we ended up going from high school sweethearts to college sweethearts.” — Broch
“I’m a huge animal lover. I’ve been rescuing animals my whole life, and I wanted to incorporate that into our wedding.” — Megan
“I found Caitie after posting on a local Facebook page, asking if there would be any pet rescues interested in having a promotional/adoption event at my wedding. Caitie loved the idea as much as I did, and she put me in touch with Ranger’s Reach — all while helping coordinate the event!” — Megan
“Every puppy that was in our wedding pictures got adopted, including the one we were holding. We didn’t plan on adopting a dog, but I just couldn’t stop thinking about her.” — Megan
“I would definitely get a day-of coordinator. I didn’t think I would need one, but I got one last minute, and I’m glad I did. It would have been a lot more chaotic.” — Megan
Sierra & Bradley Ging: July 18, 2020
“If you can find a venue for the whole weekend do it! We rented the Inn at Quarry Ridge for the whole weekend. Our entire wedding party and our parents stayed there. We wanted our family to come and enjoy their time with us not have to worry about setting up or cleaning up. It was the best way to have a wedding stress free.” — Sierra
“My favorite flowers are orchids. A lot of people were scared to work with orchids, especially in July, but my florist said, “I can do it! No problem!’ She saw my vision, and the flowers were just amazing!” — Sierra
“I definitely recommend meeting with your vendors — to not just pick someone online to go with — to make sure you're going to connect with them and to make sure they get the full sense of everything you want for your wedding.” — Sierra
“We were able to get a better connection with our vendors by getting together with them so we could get to know each other. That’s what it's all about: the true camaraderie surrounding us as we were getting married, when everybody else has the same emotions that you are having and want you to be really successful in your marriage.” — Brad
Ashlyn & Cooper McCall: July 27, 2020
"Cooper likes to say we met at a bar … but, like all good Aggies, we met at Harry’s. I had gone dancing with a bunch of friends, and Cooper asked me to dance. We danced to six songs that night, and a little later, we went on our first date.” — Ashlyn
“We got married twice because of the pandemic. The first one, on May 25, we like to call our elopement, because it was only immediate family. But ultimately, we just wanted to celebrate with all of our friends and family, so we got married again, ceremony and all, two months later.” — Ashlyn
“Everyone’s still adjusting to figuring out how to do things. But hiccups will always happen; it’s important to focus on the meaning of the day. Coreena’s Bridal, especially, did a great job of making me still feel special, even while we were in the very thick of COVID.” — Ashlyn
“I cannot stress enough how perfect Peach Creek Ranch is. They have done everything to make it the perfect wedding venue: on-site bride and groom cottages, a built-in sound system for the reception, a path with tons of picture spots, lots of space for caterers to work, their own wedding coordinators, and so much more!” — Ashlyn
Jennifer & Michael Satterfield: Sept. 26, 2020
“Mike and I fell in love through our shared passion for travel, writing, and adventure.” — Jennifer
“We worked with David Gardner to redesign Mike's grandmother's wedding ring. Creating a custom engagement ring was a very special design process that we enjoyed doing together. When the ring was finished, we celebrated with a weekend in Austin, where we had our first date.” — Jennifer
“We added a virtual Facebook event invite to live stream the wedding for guests who could not travel or were uncomfortable attending the wedding in person.” — Jennifer
“The day couldn't have been more perfect, it was seamless. Since COVID was a factor in our wedding, there were many people who we had not seen in person for months. We were so overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends, family, and our local wedding vendors.” — Jennifer
