The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is hosting its annual live butterfly release on Saturday, July 25, from 9 to 10:30am.
This year, because of COVID-19 concerns, Wish Upon a Butterfly will be a drive-thru event. Visitors will drive to the Brazos Center Park Pavilion where museum staff, dressed in butterfly attire to add to the fun, will hand out purchased butterflies to release at home!
Participants will also receive an activity packet that they can enjoy with their families. If participants are unable to pick up their butterfly, museum staff will release purchased butterflies upon request.
Guests who decorate their cars or who come to the event in butterfly or caterpillar themed costumes will receive a surprise gift!
Proceeds benefit the museum and support free admission to the museum for active-duty enlisted personnel and their families through Sept. 5.
Butterflies are $20 each or six for $100, and the top butterfly purchaser may choose a 2020 honoree to be named on a permanent butterfly plaque in the museum. Supplies are limited.
