The Bryan Aquatic Center boasts an Olympic-sized heated pool, featuring two waterslides, the only public diving board in the area, a zero depth beach entry area perfect for families, and plenty of space for the whole family to bask in the sun! The pool is open to the public throughout the year and is available for rent after hours and on a first-come, first-served basis.
*The diving board, waterslides, and recreation swim activities are only available during the summer season. Lap swimming is available year-round at the Bryan Aquatic Center.
Pool Rules
- Children ages 11 and under must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older) who is capable of caring for the child in the water. A maximum of two (2) children ages 11 and under per adult shall be allowed in the facility. Children, ages 6 and under, must be within an arm’s length at all times of their adult supervisor when in the water.
- All patrons (swimmers and sunbathers) must wear swimming suits with appropriate lining.
- Abusive, loud, or profane language is not permitted in any part of the pool facilities.
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
- Patrons may bring in their own food and drinks; however alcohol and glass bottles are prohibited.
- Any persons known or suspected of having a communicable condition, open sores, bandages, or open wounds shall be denied admittance. The head lifeguard will have discretionary powers in these matters.
- Swimmers may be asked at the lifeguard’s discretion to take a cleansing shower before entering the pool to remove excess lotions, sunscreens, or other materials.
- Playing or hanging on the ladders is strictly forbidden
- Rough play, dunking, water fighting, diving off another person’s shoulders, riding on another person’s back or pushing others into the pool is not permitted. NO HORSEPLAY!
- Swimmers are not allowed to run and dive over the edge of the pool, dive or jump from the lifeguard stands, or dive or jump from the decks backwards. No twisting jumps or flips from the side will be allowed.
- Distracting a lifeguard from his/her duty or falsely summoning aid is prohibited.
- Inflatable beach balls and other flotation devices shall be allowed only at the discretion of the head lifeguard and restricted to the shallow water only.
- Staff reserves the right to check bags and coolers at the entrance of all pool facilities.
- Lifeguards have complete authority at all times under the supervision of the head lifeguard.
- The City of Bryan reserves the right to deny entry into its aquatic facilities or remove a patron from the facility should the rules of the facility not be followed.
Diving Board Rules
- Only one (1) person is allowed on the diving board at any time.
- Divers are allowed only one (1) bounce on the diving board per dive.
- All diving or jumping must be done straight off the end of the board.
- Divers must wait until the diving area is clear
- Divers must exit the diving area as quickly as possible.
- Goggles or earplugs may not be worn or held by persons using the diving board.
- Divers may be required to complete a swim test to prove their swimming ability
- Only dives with hands in diving position are allowed.
- No inwards or gainers allowed.
Slide Rules
- Sliders may be required to complete a swim test to prove swimming ability.
- Sliders must be 4 feet tall to ride on the slide
- Sliders must ride one at a time
- No trains or head first sliding are allowed
- Sliders must ride feet first, lying down on their back.
- Goggles, earplugs, jewelry, and/or glasses may not be worn or held by persons using the water slide.
- Sliders must obey all instructions from facility staff.
